2023년 2월 문을 연 부시시 스튜디오는 1년이 넘게 이름이 없는 조용한 개인 실험실이었습니다. 앞으로는 한강이 흐르고, 뒤로는 아파트가 보이며 일방통행 길로만 진입할 수 있는 독특한 위치에 자리잡은 이 장소는 서로 다른 요소들 사이의 관계를 드러내는 공간이라는 점에서 스튜디오가 추구하는 방향과 닮아있습니다.
부시시 스튜디오는 관계에 대해 탐구합니다. 특히 교육을 통해 세상과 만나고 소통하며 공예가 가진 가치를 널리 퍼트릴 수 있을 것이라고 믿습니다. 작업자이면서 교육자이고 다양한 주제를 탐구하는 서로 다른 4명의 도예작가들은 각자 자신이 추구하는 공예성을 교육과정을 통해 전달합니다. 스튜디오가 추구하는 키워드인 Matters; Molten Materials의 앞 세 글자는 곧 이 공간의 정체성이기도 합니다. 스튜디오가 보여주고자 하는 관계성, 물질성, 그리고 관계에는 어떤 한계도 경계도 없음을 의미합니다. BUSISI studio는 재료를 잠재된 가능성을 가진 물질로 생각하며, 각각의 작업자로서 주제를 연구하는 한편, 공방교육을 통해 함께하는 공예문화의 향유 방식을 고민하며 실험을 지속하고 있습니다.
BUSISI studio, located in Gyeonggi-do, is a Material Lab that explores the glazes. BUSISI Studio opened in February 2023 was a quiet, private space with no name for over a year. Located in a unique position with the Han River flowing in front, apartments behind, and only accessible through a one-way street, the space reveals the relationship between different elements.
BUSISI Studio explores the relationships. We believe that through education, we can meet and communicate with the world and widely spread the value of crafts. Four different ceramic artists who are both workers and educators and explore various topics convey the craftsmanship they each pursue through the curriculum. The first three letters of Matters; Molten Materials, the keywords pursued by the studio, are also the identity of this space. The connected shape of three M signifies that there are no limits or boundaries. As seen in the name, MMM studio experiments the ways to show materials as substances with possibilities.
